Stadiumgate continues— If a punt hits the scoreboard, the play will be redone and the clock will be reset. Also the replay official will be able to call for a replay at any time if the ball hits the scoreboard instead of only in the final two minutes. You know what NFL, if you had told us it needed to be higher originally, this wouldn’t be a problem
Roy Williams Shoulder—Roy Williams hurt his shoulder in a collision with Orlando Scandrick. Nothing is broken, but he won’t play for the rest of the preseason game and the extent of the injury is unknown, more to come later
The Cowboys preseason game is Saturday at 7 pm. We’re playing the San Francisco and apparently this game will field more starters for longer than past preseason games, a “dress rehearsal” if you will, watch and enjoy
We just signed a new offensive lineman, enter Duke Preston. He plays center, and can also play guard (my gosh do we need that). He played in Buffalo for four years and then moved to Packers camp. He was cut there and the Cowboys jumped on that. He’ll be backing up Gurode at Center and will hopefully ad depth at guard as well. Thank goodness for this.
Injuries during this preseason: Quarterback Stephen McGee and fullback Deon Anderson will miss the remainder of the preseason with knee injuries. First-year defensive end Marcus Dixon has been out more than a week after sustaining a groin injury at training camp. Rookies Brandon Williams (torn ACL) and Robert Brewster (torn pectoral) are likely out for the season.
