The Official Live Blog of the Dallas Cowboys vs. the Tampa Bay Succaneers

Hey there, everybody! All one of you...

Anyway, this is the live blog for the Dallas Cowboys game. We (I) will be updating this sucker as the game unfolds (quarter by quarter). Starts tomorrow at 12. 'Till then, fella(s)!

1st Quarter: 15:00 Well, well, well. Looks like the Cowboys are still the Cowboys. Good drive, stall, stall, stall, and then field goal. Acceptable. More importantly, David Buehler decided he was going to monster a kick for a touchback. Thats right. Monster a kick. Just watch. In other, related NFL news, the Jets and Mark Sanchez are doing their thing over on CBS against the Houston Texans. What a blah game. Even Houston doesn't care about the Texans.

9:35 First 'buck drive, and the secondary is brutalized by Kellen Winslow, and DeMarcus Ware is injured. On that play, what happened: Ware blitzed on the strong side, and the defense dropped into what looked like a cover 3. Winslow slipped behind the linebacker, and got the ball in the hole. Poor play. Now Jeremy Stevens does the same thing, for another big gain. And then Cadillac Williams and then former Cowboy Antonio Bryant just got the 'bucs inside the twenty. The Cowboys not only look lost, they look very lost. Again, that doesn't mean they aren't about to open a can of BLOCKED FIELD GOAL! Whatever happened to Cadillac Williams? He had the best, THE best nickname in the NFL. Hopefully he makes a comeback. Starting next week.

3:33 Wildcat with Tashard Choice? What? Why?.... Tony Romo to Jason Witten, 18yds. Nice route. Witten is reminding me why hes one of if not my favorite Cowboy.

2:00 Felix Jones.... human. At least part human.

1:22 MartyB gets a target, while facing Rhonde Barber. For some reason, Tony decides to zip it to his outside shoulder. Another field goal, 6-0, Cowboys.

:58 Looks like we might be seeing a lot of the Caddy today. He's looking pretty good, and the Cowboys aren't tackling him yet. End of the quarter.

2nd Quarter
15:00 Apparently, the Cowboys don't want to defend. At all. Derrick Ward, a former NYG, is tearing the defense as bad as the Caddy. Anthony Spencer just missed his one and only shot at a sack; they should just bench him now. He's not gonna do anything the rest of the day.

10:16 The Ticket guys will be unhappy, no doubt, to see the little guy back. Gerald Sensesbaugh tackles Caddy, Roy Williams style, and makes me think for a second that he had broken his leg. Man, talk about injustice, if that had happened. The guys like 28 going on double knee replacements. And now he repays me by scoring a TD. Still not worried. 7-6, Bucs. And now I've synced the ticket to the game. Sweet.

9:53 Marion Barber makes a nice play. Nice play Barber. I have you down for seventy yards. Get them.

8:20 At this point, I just want to blog the Ticket. Gordo is being super serious fan, and racially sensitive man. And the defense still looks terrible.

6:33 Marv Albert talk on the ticket. "Get me a black guy" is a new drop.

5:37 The Ticket guys have jumped ship. ANNNNNNNNND....... punt. Roughing the punter.... first down!

4:30 A Roy Williams sighting. Incomplete. Where are you at, Roy boy? Make some plays.

Tayshard Anderson... nice Gordo.

3:16 A reverse to Patrick Clayton, for 15, flag. Illegal block?

Romo misses Miles Austin. God. Its hard to watch the rust come off. A crappy screen. Man. Punt town, USA.

1:04 Cowboys are getting the ball back, at the 50.

:46 TOUCHDOWN!Miles Austin makes a heck of a play after making the catch, making two guys miss. 13-7 Cowboys.

:07 A long pass to Michael Clayton. "Hitler would have stopped that." Too true, Corby. Also, Philly is up 31-7 over the Panthers. Looks like I was right. And Leftwich just missed a touchdown. Field goal to end the half, NO GOOD! NO GOOD! 13-7, Cowboys!

Second Half

12:10 MartyB talk betwee Gordo and the Average Cowboys Fan. Romo & Co. TOUCHDOWN, ROY WILLIAMS! Roy runs a fly route up the seem of the 'bucs man coverage, and splits two tacklers to get a 60 odd yard touchdow. No help over the top from the saftey, and Aquib Talib (A former Kansas standout) gave Roy too much room. Roy Williams, the Cowboys savior.

Man, a nice play. A nice play. And another touchback. In baseball news, the Rangers are now 3 1/2 back. I am starting to get that impossible to make the playoffs feeling, which is way, way too bad for the Rangers. Next year, I guess.

10:38 Blake's favorite, Keith Brooking, is back. And then Terrence Newman decides to make a stupid play, followed by Patrick Crayton making an even stupider one by kicking the football! Unberevable. Ridonculous. That was the stupidest thing I have ever seen. In my whole life.

5:58 Mostly boredom. The defense has been playing well this quarter. Thats about it.

3:48 The inevitable Tony Romo Interception... is a drop? Good for the stat sheet.

Derrick Ward gets some yards on first down. And then a fumble.

:05 "46" is down. Bad news for the defense. Patrick Watkins comes in.

Fourth Quarter

13:54 Trips bunched to one side, Leftwich throws and its a touchdown. Actually, scratch that. But it will be soon.

13:45 Derrick Ward hurdles the line. Touchdown. 20-14, Cowboys.

12:43 And here... we... go... Touchdown, Patrick Crayton. Just like that, 27-14, Cowboys. Tony Romo is having a good day- his interception got dropped, and he's thrown some great passes. He could be a very good quarterback this year. Also, anyone curious as to how injured Donovan McNabb is? If he's in trouble, how far will the Eagles drop with Vick? Will they drop? Man, Michael Vick, starting quarterback. Coming your way soon.

6:17 Patrick Crayton gets another deep target. "This is a huge play office." Couldn't agree more, Corby. A huge play office.

3:57 Marion Barber, Touchdown. That's the game, folks!. Roy Williams makes a great block. Good Job, Roy boy. Also, career best game for Romo? Man, this really snuck up on me. It didn't feel like a career day, watching it. 34-14, Cowboys.

3:51 A run play. Idiots.

3:43 Mike Jenkins drops a pick. Jenkins has been pretty bad today. Watch for Orlando Scandrick to get more playing time next week.

2:00 Well, lets take a look around the League. I will probably win my three team teaser bet on the Vikings, Eagles and Lions. What a great call by me. Hopefully Stafford doesn't throw any more picks, and Drew Brees stops at 5 TDs.

:00 The 'bucs scored a while ago. Final 34-20, Cowboys. How does that stack up to my prediction? Way different

Some Overall Thoughts:

the Cowboys offense looks great; the defense, not so much. There is no reason to think they can't compete in the East, but they didn't seperate themselves today. The 'bucs are awful. They had their running backs playing well and abandonded them. Stupidity.

the Eagles are looking fierce. Who knows whats wrong with McNabb, but, we'll see how much that affects them (Rember Jeff Garcia? And A.J. Feeley?)

Blake will come in later with the recap. So long, everybody
