The fellowship Of The Drive

So you might be wondering, Blake, knower of all things Cowboys, what is the best way to go about getting to a Cowboys game. WELL…I’ll tell you. I’ll even make you a to do list for your evening of frivolity and fun in Jerry World, from start to finish, to get you to the stadium on time and to ensure that everything goes smoothly, to hopefully ensure your parking isn’t a nightmare, and to allow for quick movement from point A to point Awesome (the stadium). So now, listed below, the top ten list for how best to get to the stadium.

Step 1.) If you have Cowboys stuff, wear it. It’s time to go crazy for your boys, so toss on that old jersey and paint up, make a sign, whatever. Make the most of this opportunity.

Step 2.) For all you forgetful types, make sure you have the tickets.

Step 3.) If you have a party pass, leave at minimum 3 hours before game time. If you have a regular seat, I would say leave 2 hours early. Traffic is a nightmare for most of the drive. Leave earlier if you can. Don’t be late; get there early to explore the stadium.

Step 4.) If you’re heading in from Dallas and plan on taking 75 to Woodall Rogers to I-35 to I-30. DO NOT! This may be common sense to most everyone here, but just to make sure you know, this is a huge time waste. Avoid at all costs. Find any other way to I-30.

Step 5.) Drive in a group; the HOV lane on I-30 is the way to go. It takes you right to the 360 exit.

Step 6.) Get off the highway before the Cowboys Stadium exit. If you’re paying for parking, exit 360 and pass down in front of six flags. Then turn right on any of those streets. Parking is around $10, and I even saw an $8 parking lot. If you like money and walking, park down in there. If you like walking and money less, keep going, but don’t exit where the stadium is. Traffic is brutal.

Step 7.) If you have a parking pass, leave a little earlier to allow for the unbelievable traffic at and around the stadium. Good luck, you’ll need it.

Step 8.) If you haven’t figured out what I think is the better option, if you have the choice, find a pay to park lot. It’s quicker and cheaper, and you will literally be walking to the stadium faster than any of the traffic surrounding it.

Step 9.) Take it all in, everything around the stadium is awesome; enjoy the sights, sounds, and all the nice employees. Seriously, they seem to be about as excited to be working as you are of arriving.

Step 10.) Take a deep breath, open the door, and read tomorrow to find out what happens next.
